May 2008 Side Shots
The May 2008 issue of Side Shots is available online. It is a large file greater than 4 megabytes, so it may take a while to download if you have a slow internet connection. Please feel free to leave any comments about the articles or any aspect of the content on the PLSC Forum.
Because the cost of producing Side Shots is directly related to the number of pages in each issue, we are putting some items that have been printed in the past on the website instead.
The Denver Post published an article by PLSC President J.B. Guyton in the Tuesday, May 22 issue about the retracement of the 40th Parallel.
House Bill 1225 signed by Gov. Ritter
Thanks to the contributions from the current and past Chairs of the Legislative Committee, Roger Nelson and Ron Perkins, the PLSC, Inc. lobbyist, Peg Ackerman, all the members of the Legislative Committee, and to the efforts of Rep. Jim Kerr and Sen. Abel Tapia, House Bill 1225 was a successful endeavor, and has been signed into law by Governor Bill Ritter. I will recommend to the Board of Directors that we officially thank both
Representative Jim Kerr and Senator Abel Tapia for sponsoring the legislation. Please read more about this legislation, including when it may take effect, in the Legislative Committee report that is included in the “Committee Reports” section of the May 2007 issue of Side Shots .
The 2006 PLSC Fall Technical Program and Annual Meeting took place at the Colorado School of Mines Green Center November 30-December 2, 2006. Larry Connolly has provided several pictures from this event. Thank you, Larry!
