Dear Members,
PLSC is a proud, voluntary organization boasting over 600 members. This Society was started from scratch in 1966 by a handful of hard-working surveyors who saw that our profession was influenced by non-surveyors. Their vision was for surveyors to take charge in the best interest of the public. They succeeded.
Today, our profession embodies the ideals of the PLSC membership. A strong membership will be necessary to advance the agenda of this proud profession into the future. If you are not a member of PLSC, our profession needs you to join. If you are a current member, our profession needs your continued presence. PLSC can do for you what you can't do for yourself.
For example, the creation of a new special committee: "Survey Camp". Jim Luke will serve as chair. This committee will perpetuate a learning environment in it's purest form: The field. It started as an idea from one of our members. The idea will become reality through the work of our members. In turn, "Survey Camp" is sure to encourage more members to join PLSC.
Every idea, every legislative goal and every education opportunity that makes our work a profession is born, brought forth, and realized by our membership. If you are short on time, send us your ideas. If you want to spend a little time for the profession, ask to be involved in a committee. If you have the time to represent your profession , ask to run for Director. It takes all of us to reach the heights we aim for.
Sincerely Yours,
Warren D. Ward, PLS President
