Dear Fellow Members,

Thanks to all of our members for allowing me to serve as President of this organization; I am honored by and grateful for this opportunity. I am inspired by the contributions of past Presidents of the PLSC; of course, any mention of contributions should include a special acknowledgement of Bill McComber and his service to our profession. I will strive to meet the standards established by those who have preceded me.

Please extend a welcome to our newly elected Directors; Larry Connelly (Southwest Chapter), Gary Gable (Central Chapter), Diana Askew (Central Chapter), Mike Greer (Central Chapter), and John Noonan (Northwest Chapter); and to Tom Adams (Southern Chapter), our new Vice President.

Finally, resounding thanks to all the people who contributed to the success of our Fall Technical Programs; Workshop Organizers Tom Adams, Lisa Isom, Daryl Wilson, Geof Stephenson, Gene Kooper, Kurt Ernstberger, Chic Chichester, and Gaby Neunzert; and Presenters Karl Nelson, Stan Vermilyea, Alan Blair, Diana Askew, Gene Kooper, Gaby Neunzert, and Randy Bloom. Special thanks go to Sally Patterson, Bonna Kay McComber and Briann McComber. Lisa Isom and the PLSC office staff also deserve special recognition and thanks for all their efforts and support provided on behalf of the PLSC.

Some of my goals for the PLSC-

Facilitate better communication and coordination with and between our local chapters and the PLSC. Directors will be asked to attend local chapter meetings whenever possible to keep us up to date on local happenings and issues.

Promote more technical programs, such as those designed by Gaby Neunzert, that were so successful at our Fall Workshop.

Increase our membership to include new, young, and fresh viewpoints. In order to remain a vital organization, we need to stay up to date with new technologies and ideologies.

We have much to be proud of in Colorado’s professional society, the PLSC; we are ultimately an advocacy group for our profession, so please let us know how we can serve. If you have any items that you would like to have on the agenda for the upcoming February meeting, please bring them to me or another Director so they can be included. The meeting is open to everyone, and it’s a great opportunity to meet and converse with others in your profession.

Sincerely,

John B. Guyton, PLS
