Dear Members,
I hope everyones summer is keeping them busy and profitable. The heat of this summer is undoubtedly making us all lose weight, or at least testing our physical abilities. The spring rains gave us the impression the drought was over, but it seems were not out of the woods yet.I would like to thank the Southwest Chapter for their hospitality at our June meeting in Durango. It was a pleasant experience and it sounds like the seminar was successful. It always a pleasure to meet some of the members that we dont always get a chance to talk with or hear from.
Congratulations go out to Bryan Clark, who has been chairman of the PLSC Legislative Committee for some time, and has recently been appointed to the Board of Registration to fill Wayne Clarks position. Bryan has been an instrumental part of the PLSC Board and his tireless efforts will be missed as he moves on to his new endeavor. Thank you, Bryan for all your hard work!
Along the lines of the legislative committee, the final report of the Sunset Review committee is being reviewed by DORA and PLSC has been charged with finding a sponsor for the legislation next fall. The committee worked very hard with other professional societies and the Board of Registration to put together a nearly 50-page document to be formulated into the bill for the next legislative session. Our gratitude goes out to the Board of Registration and the committee members for their efforts to come up with amiable solutions to all the issues.
Our next Board of Directors meeting will be held in Pueblo in conjunction with the Southern Chapters workshop September 5 and 6. As usual, any items you wish to have on the agenda need to be brought to my attention. Items to be discussed so far include continuing education requirement, the new Mile High Benchmark being set on the Capital steps and the ceremony that most likely will have already taken place, and filling Bryan Clarks directors position on the Board.
Hope to see all of you there, and please, contact me if there are any issues you would like to bring before the Board.
Sincerely,
Mark Corbridge
