| Randy Fortuin, PLSRandy’s Surveying career began in Glens Falls, NY in 1983. He surveyed for both a two-person company and, later, a mid-size company. After three years, he decided to move to Colorado, where he had briefly lived after his service in the U.S. Navy. Randy was fortunate to work with Jan Modeland and Jason Emery, out of Estes Park. Jan and Jason were excellent teachers. He then joined Greiner Engineering during the design and construction of DIA. When the DIA project was completed, he was hired by Merrick and Company, where he had the privilege of working directly with one of the leaders of the Surveying profession, Doyle Abrahamson. After five years with Merrick, he became a partner with Glorso Murray Surveying (GMS), where he continued to increase his knowledge of surveying while working alongside some wonderful people. Two years later, Randy decided to follow his own path and founded CBM Surveys, Inc. in January of 2000. CBM continues to thrive after 25 years. Randy’s initial involvement in the Central Chapter (CCPS) began at Metropolitan State College, when the first meetings of the chapter were held in a college lecture hall. He served on various committees and, eventually, became a board member. In 1996, Randy served as the President of CCPS. In 2017-2018, Randy again served on the Board of Directors.
